What to Visit in Rome

The Eternal City, referencing Rome, is thousands of years old. When traveling to this beautiful destination the old and the new cross paths. There is much to see and do in Rome, so much so, that most plan to see it year after year and still cannot write it off. Starting with the many tours offered, travelers get a better understanding of the rich history and culture of the area.

Tours of Rome can come in many forms. They offer tours as a group or individual personal tours. Usually the guides are experts in the history of the people and country. This personal way of viewing the city gives the traveler an in-depth look at the area allowing you to touch the area visually, kinetically, and artistically.

The guides are in control of the various tours, taking you up and down the historical streets, introducing you to the past first hand. Many of the tours fill up fast so you may want to schedule your tours as soon as you purchase your tickets to make sure you get what you want. Research the many organizations that offer the tours so you can get a reliable, knowledgeable, and ethical tour guide.

Day Trips

There are plenty of towns close by to take a train trip to see or a bus ride to visit. Other towns like Venice are a plane ride away. Depending on how much time you are, going to be in Rome will help you decide where to take a leisurely drive for the day. Leaving one busy city for another busy city may not seem like a relaxing trip so let us explore some slower towns that have a lot to offer.

Take a drive to Ostia Antica to see the Roman Ruins. They are not as famous as Pompeii or Herculaneum and they will not have the crowds, but the trip will be full of history. Take a drive to Frascasi, a town that is a quick train ride outside Rome. You can enjoy spending the day, enjoy the local white wines, or just have lunch before going back to the city.

Ostia Lido is another half hour trip away. This beach town is a great place to journey to if you just want to get in the water. The private beaches will cost you money to enjoy them, but you don’t want to visit Italy and not go to a beach.

Viterbo is a medieval town. Taking the 2-hour trip to this little town is a must see on anyone’s list of things to do. The history of this town also goes back hundreds of years.

Some places are so famous there is no need in defining them; just remember to put them on your lists of things to do while visiting. Make sure you visit:

* A church
* The Borghese Gardens
* The Coliseum
* The Pantheon in Rome
* The Markets
* The Trevi Fountain
* The Vatican

There are probably hundreds of other things to do and see while in Rome. Everyone that has ever visited this city will probably have a different list; remember you do not see it all in one visit. To experience this city means visiting several times to get it all in. Just remember to book tours early and wear comfortable shoes.

So foreign cultures have a great influence on the traditional Chinese culture in Shanghai, therefore here you will see high combination of various cultures, including architecture, religion, food etc.

4. Big cities will never lose its charm on entertainment, so does Shanghai. The bars in Xintiandi Entertainment Complex, the acrobatic show in Shanghai circus, the world first-class brands in Nanjing Road, the eye-catching system LED in the Bund area and so on.

5. The most attractive point you should come to Shanghai is because of the World Expo 2010 will be held here. Expo 2010 Shanghai China will be a great event to explore the full potential of urban life in the 21st century and a significant period in urban evolution, will also be a grand international gathering which providing cross-culture dialogues.
